Details of the original alert: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of a continued rise in temperatures, with Monday’s weather expected to be very hot and humid during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the southern parts of the country, and hot and humid on the north coast.<br />The weather at night will be slightly hot and humid across the country.<br />The EMA advised people to avoid direct sun exposure during the afternoon, wear light clothing, keep well-hydrated, exercise caution on the roads due to morning mist, and monitor daily weather updates.<br /><br />Monday’s weather<br />Monday’s weather maps warn of morning mist on agricultural and highway roads leading to and from Greater Cairo, the Delta, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai.<br />There will be a chance of light to moderate rainfall, with occasional thunderstorms, in some areas of South Sinai (especially St. Catherine and Abu Simbel) and northern Upper Egypt.<br />Low and medium clouds are expected north of the country and Lower Egypt.<br />The EMA indicated that high humidity levels will increase the feeling of heat by values ranging from two to five Celsius degrees.<br /><br />Sea Conditions<br />Red Sea: Moderate to rough, with waves between 2.5 and three meters high, and wind speeds between 40 and 50 km/h.<br />Mediterranean Sea: Light to moderate, with waves between 1.5 and 2.5 meters high, and wind speeds between 30 and 40 km/h.<br /><br />Temperatures expected on Monday:<br />Matrouh: 30C<br />Alexandria: 31C<br />Cairo: 37C<br />Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh: 38C<br />Luxor: 41C<br />Aswan: 42C<br />Edited translation from Al-Masry Al-Youm
